How to Make Your Own Deodorant (liquid or powder)

Make your own natural deodorants at home with these easy recipes!

Liquid deodorants
Witch Hazel Deodorant
Witch hazel store bought and applied to a cotton swab or cloth and rubbed into the underarms will cleanse and neutralize the body  odor.

You can add 10 drops of tea tree essential oil to each ounce of witch hazel to increase the deodorizing and antibacterial action of your product.

Another recipe with great cleansing effect calls for 4 oz witch hazel, 8 drops lavender essential oil, 2 drops patchouli essential oil and 5 drops rosemary essential oil. Pour all ingredients in a 4 oz spray bottle or jar and shake well. Apply to a cotton ball and wipe underarms after shower/bath and as needed throughout the day.

Powder Deodorant
Sandalwood body powder: in a bowl mix thoroughly the following: 1 cup clay, 1/2 cup arrowroot powder, 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup slippery elm powder, 100 drops sandalwood essential oil and 20 drops tea tree essential oil. Put the mix in a jar, cap it and shake it. Sprinkle into underarms.
